Hello! I am Ragnar Freyr, a 28 year old graphic designer from Iceland.

I was born in a small town of Akureyri but grew up in an even smaller place called Olafsfjordur, a fishing village on the northern part of Iceland.

When I was a small boy I dreamt of being many things when I would eventually grow up. To name a few I wanted to be an archeologist, a chemist, a priest, a horse breeder, singer, dancer, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, journalist, professional athlete (In Cross-Country skiiing mind you!) and much more.

After finishing elementary school I moved back to Akureyri to study Sociology and Psychology. I soon found out that my heart was set on something else and after graduating in 2000 I applied for a job as a graphic designer at a local design studio. Luckily I got the job.

Having worked at the studio for little more than a year and personally established my love and enthusiasm for graphic design, I packed my bags and moved to Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland, to attend the Icelandic Academy of Arts.

I graduated with B.A. diploma in graphic design in 2005 from the Icelandic Academy of Arts and subsequently started the multidisciplinary design group FRONT with product designer Olafur Omarsson.

In summer 2006 I got married to product designer Ragnheidur Osp and moved with her to Michigan, USA where she studied 3D design at Cranbrook Academy of Art for two years.

Currently, I am studying Pedagogy in Graphic Design at the Icelandic Academy of Arts in Reykjavík while working on various personal and commercial projects.
